Veteran Bloomington journalist Mike Leonard has interviewed the Dalai Lama, Barack Obama, Elinor Ostrom, Lester Maddox, Sister Helen Prejean, John Mellencamp, Bob Knight, Joshua Bell, Quincy Jones, James Brown, Jim Brown, Jackson Browne and legions of other interesting people. He’s covered breaking news, the education beat, music entertainment ranging from pop, rock, jazz and Americana to opera and ballet. He’s written investigative and long-form stories, spent nearly 30 years as a general-interest columnist from 1985 to 2013, and also found time to teach in Indiana University’s School of Journalism, now its Media School. With the B-Town Bee, he brings his journalism skills and his broad knowledge of Bloomington back to it, and adds contributions from distinguished colleagues. He enjoys mining his experience covering the area, the state of Indiana, and what’s happening in the world that connects with B-Town, our affectionate term for this place we call home. 🐝
